Secret Sauce has a new home

Our website services now run on Oracle. Here are the new addresses, why we moved, and what we are still checking.

Secret Sauce is now available at secretsauce.teamfive.eu.org. Our website services have moved from Cloudflare Workers to Oracle. Your account, communities and conversations remain in place. Old browser addresses show a move notice and take you to the matching new page.

Why we moved

The previous deployment encountered Cloudflare resource and request limits, including errors 1102 and 1027. Keeping the entire application behind that deployment made those limits affect too much of the product at once. We moved the application runtime to Oracle so engineering can manage its capacity, processes and deployment lifecycle directly.

What changed underneath

  • Docker now runs the application services on Oracle in Sydney.
  • The service boundaries cover the web interface, REST API, authentication, realtime connections, employee tools, profiles and files.
  • PostgreSQL replaces D1 for production application data. Database hosting is still on Neon while we prepare the separate Oracle database transfer.
  • Cloudflare continues to provide the custom-domain DNS and CDN. The old application deployments are fenced against writes.
  • Provider credentials and the existing private desktop release archive have been transferred to Oracle.

What this gives us

We can deploy application changes without depending on a single public Worker request budget. Realtime connections and call controls can stay in the workspace while you browse conversations. A shared PostgreSQL connection pool avoids opening a separate database connection for every service request. The migration also gives us a clearer place to measure capacity and plan the next move.

Sign in once at the new address

Your browser cannot move its old workers.dev sign-in cookie to teamfive.eu.org. A fresh sign-in at the new domain is expected. Verification links and sensitive tokens are not copied across domains; request a fresh link from the service you are using if an old one no longer works.

What is still in progress

The current Always Free Oracle VM is an emergency deployment with limited memory. A larger free replacement depends on regional capacity. Moving PostgreSQL from Neon to Oracle needs backup, collation, schema, data-parity and rollback checks before a production cutover. We are also checking external OAuth callbacks, media integrations and call behaviour on different networks.

Canary and developer applications

Canary changes are staged separately for manual publication. Existing published installers keep their original hashes and signatures. Developers should update API and Gateway base addresses to the new domain, obtain fresh connection tickets and review their external OAuth callbacks. The built-in bot host runs bounded command handlers; it is not a persistent Node hosting service.

Follow the work

Migration progress is available at sauce-status.teamfive.eu.org/migration. The status homepage reports service availability separately. New migration guides are available in the Support guide library. If something fails, send Support the affected page, action, approximate time and error reference. Keep passwords, verification codes and session tokens out of reports.
